🎓 2010 Class · NTDP · Commitment

Two Massachusetts 2010s, Two Boston College Commits, One USA Sweater Tonight.

Jack Queally and Sam Lee line up together in Plymouth tonight. With Lee’s commitment, both Massachusetts 2010s at the NTDP are headed to the same place.

Massachusetts sent two players from the 2010 birth year to the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. Tonight both of them take the ice in the same sweater for the U.S. National Under-17 Team’s home opener — and as of this week, both are committed to Boston College.

The News: Lee to Boston College

Sam Lee has committed to Boston College, the fifth commitment in the Massachusetts 2010 class and the second to the Heights. Jack Queally got there first, in August, as the leading scorer in the class.

Lee finished the 2025-26 prep season at Belmont Hill with 31 points — 15 goals and 16 assists. That was fourth in the class behind Queally’s 37, Carter Felt’s 34 and Tommy Egan’s 32, and third in goals behind Felt and Queally. He was named to the USA Hockey National 15 Team in 2025, was one of only three Massachusetts 2010s invited to the NTDP Evaluation Camp in Plymouth last March, and was selected by Moncton in the June QMJHL Draft — a selection that preserves NCAA eligibility.

What the table does not show is that they spent last winter on opposite sides of the sharpest rivalry in the class. Queally played his club hockey for the Neponset Valley River Rats, Lee for the Minutemen Flames — the two programs that drove the most productive Massachusetts 2010 season on record. They met at the USA Hockey 15U National Championship in Green Bay in March, on different benches. Tonight they are on the same one.

A note on what’s missing from their 2026 lines. Neither player has a Boys Festival, Final 40 or National 16 Camp entry this year, and that is a promotion rather than an absence. NTDP players do not attend the National 16 Camp — they are already past it.

What Boston College Is Getting

Two forwards who finished first and fourth in their class, both with a national camp behind them and a full NTDP cycle ahead. They join a program with five national championships under Greg Brown, the 2024 National Coach of the Year.

The difference between them is worth stating plainly. Queally is the player the class was waiting on — 37 points, three clear of anyone else, a lefty with a missile from his natural side and a first-line center at St. Sebastian’s. Lee is the player who finished one spot off the podium in every category that mattered and went to Plymouth anyway. The NTDP selectors were not reading the same scoring table the rest of us were, and two years from now that will be the more interesting half of this story.

The class now has five commitments: Michael Barrett to Yale, Logan Cotter to Northeastern, Tyler Poti to Quinnipiac, and Queally and Lee to Boston College.

Commitments are verbal. A verbal commitment is not a signed National Letter of Intent and is not binding on the player or the school. Players decommit, and programs change coaches.
