Every Massachusetts Result from the Eastern Alliance Kickoff.
Massachusetts clubs won two of the three championships. Springfield Thunderbirds took U16 White 3-2 in overtime on a 4-on-3 power play, against another Massachusetts club, and finished 6-0-0. Middlesex Islanders East won U15 Red 4-2 over the Boston Jr Eagles — an all-Massachusetts final between two unbeaten clubs — and ended 7-0-0, the only club at the tournament to win every game it played. In U16 Red, IHC East knocked out the unbeaten River Rats and then the unbeaten Buffalo Jr Sabres before losing the final to Woodbridge. Five of the six teams in the three title games were from Massachusetts. Twenty-two clubs, 104 games, club by club with opponent, result, goals for and goals against.

EAK runs four U16 divisions and they never mix — Red on top, White a level below, and two Tier 2 Blue divisions. This is every round-robin game for the Massachusetts Tier 1 and Tier 2 National Bound teams, by team, with GF, GA and Result to fill in as the weekend goes. Three organizations appear twice — the River Rats, EC Militia and South Shore Kings each field a Tier 2 side in Blue alongside their team above. Nothing in the Red round robin is Massachusetts against Massachusetts; White has three. Tier declarations are due September 15.

There is no Tier 2 at 15U in Massachusetts — every Massachusetts program at this age plays Tier 1, which makes the U15 list simpler than the U16 one. Nine Tier 1 National Bound teams, six in U15 Red and three in White, 27 round-robin games sorted by team with GF, GA and Result to fill in as the weekend goes. Four programs on the Tier 1 list are not entered at EAK. One round-robin game puts two of these teams against each other: River Rats against Northeast Generals, Friday at 7:20 PM. Most of these players are not on prep varsity yet — December tryouts are the event of their year.

Beast Launch 16U: The First Look at Five Massachusetts Tier 1 Teams.
Eleven games, five Massachusetts Tier 1 programs, and a first mock ranking. The River Rats went 2-0-1 and gave up four goals in three games. The Islanders are 2-0-0 with one goal against and a head-to-head win over the Militia. The South Shore Kings won both of theirs, scored 16 goals, and still sit fourth — they have not faced a single one of the other four and won't until November. And the number that frames all of it: 91 players born in 2010 across those five rosters, 61 of them prep school kids from twenty different programs. Belmont Hill leads with eight. Five of St. George's six are River Rats.

The 2026-27 season begins today. Thirty Massachusetts 2010 prep players are at the Beast Launch through September 1 — nineteen at 16U, eleven at 18U — and that includes the entire top eight forwards in the class, twelve of the fifteen ranked forwards and six of the ten ranked defensemen. These are the first confirmed club rosters of the season, not projections. The River Rats bring eleven, the Islanders seven, and Tyler Poti plays a full age group up at 18U.

The one the class was waiting on. Queally led all Massachusetts 2010s in scoring with 37 points at St. Sebastian's — 16 goals and 21 assists, three clear of anyone else — and is one of only two players in the class selected to the USA Hockey NTDP. He reports to Plymouth this fall and lands with Greg Brown, the 2024 National Coach of the Year, at a program with five national titles. Fourth commitment in the class, and the first ranked No. 1 at his position.
